The Salman Khan-hosted reality show Bigg Boss 19 has already started generating massive buzz across television and social media. In a recent episode, actress-singer Shehnaaz Gill expressed her gratitude towards Salman, saying:
> “Sir, aapne itnon ke career banaye hai.”
The statement referred to Salman Khan’s well-known reputation for mentoring newcomers in Bollywood. However, the superstar quickly downplayed the compliment, offering a candid clarification.
Salman Khan’s Response
Salman replied with humility and wit, saying:
> “Maine kahan banaye hain kisi ki career? Career banane waala toh upar waala hai. Laanchan bhi daala hai ki kitnon ke dubaaye hai. Specially dubaane waale toh mere haath mein hai hi nahi. Lekin aaj kal sab chalta hai na ki career khaa jaayega. Kaunsa career khaaya maine? Par agar khao na toh main apna khud ka career khaa jaunga.”
He further admitted that at times he has grown complacent in his career but always makes efforts to get back on track:
> “Kabhi kabhi main complacent hojaata hun aur fir chodh deta hun aur fir vapas usko aapne grip main laane ki koshish karta hun.”
The Abhinav Kashyap Angle
Salman Khan’s comments arrive just as filmmaker Abhinav Kashyap, director of Salman’s blockbuster Dabangg (2010), reignited his feud with the superstar. In a recent interview with Screen, Kashyap made sharp allegations, calling Salman an “ill-mannered and bad person”.
The filmmaker claimed:
“Salman is never involved. He is not even interested in acting, and hasn’t been for the last 25 years. He does a favour by turning up to work.”
“He is more into the power of being a celebrity, but he is not interested in acting. He is a gunda. Salman badtameez hai, ganda insaan hai.”
Kashyap also alleged that Salman and his family exert control in Bollywood through what he called a “star system.”
